Having practiced law for nearly two decades, James specializes in Family Law and is well-versed in complex family law issues.
He has significant trial experience and has practiced in all seven Bay Area, California counties and beyond.

Education
James graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in Political Science and Women’s Studies.
He also attended the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.
Early Law Career
While a law student James earned a number of academic awards including the Witkin Award for Contract Law and was named a member of the Traynor’s Honor Society.
He worked as a research assistant to internationally renowned contracts scholar Claude D. Rohwer and assisted in updating the 6th edition of his book Contracts in a Nutshell.
After law school James worked at several small firms gaining significant experience in a wide range of civil litigation areas of practice.
In 2011 James joined The Law Offices of Roger L. Meredith as an associate focusing predominantly on family law matters. In this role, James became well-versed in family law litigation and handling complex dissolution and paternity matters.
In 2016 James opened The Law Offices of James C. Ward to continue to focus predominantly on family law matters. James’s goal as a sole practitioner is to provide personalized counsel and advocacy for clients navigating the family court system.
